Getsafe is a digital insurance startup that was founded in Germany in 2015. The company offers a variety of insurance products, including home, car, and pet insurance. Getsafe has now expanded to France, starting with home insurance.

Getsafe is offering a competitive home insurance product that is fully digital and easy to use. Customers can get a quote and purchase insurance within minutes.

Getsafe plans to add more insurance products in the future, such as car and pet insurance. The company is also planning to expand to other countries in Europe.

Getsafe expands to France starting with home insurance

After a soft launch in October, German insurtech startup Getsafe is now fully operational in France.

The company, which offers a digital insurance platform, has initially rolled out its home insurance product in France. This is the first time Getsafe has expanded its offering beyond Germany, where it has been operational since 2015.

Getsafe’s expansion into France comes as the insurtech sector continues to grow in popularity. In 2019, there was $12.6 billion worth of investments made in insurtech globally, more than double the amount invested in 2018, according to data from CB Insights.

As the sector continues to grow, so too does Getsafe. The company, which is backed by Allianz andventure capital firms such asKinnevik and Ribbit Capital, has raised a total of $130 million since it was founded.

With its expansion into France, Getsafe is looking to tap into a market that is ripe for disruption. The French insurance market is worth an estimated €100 billion, but only 5% of that is sold online, according to a recent report from Roland Berger.

Getsafe is hoping to change that with its digital platform, which offers a simple and convenient way for customers to purchase and manage their insurance policies.

“Only a small fraction of the insurance market is digital in France. We want to change that and make insurance more transparent, simple and fair for everybody,” said Jan Michael Hess, CEO and co-founder of Getsafe, in a statement.

To help it achieve its goal, Getsafe has assembled a team of experienced insurance executives. The company’s COO, Pierre-Yves Morlat, is a former AXA executive, while its Chief Product Officer, Stefan Krause, was previously with Allianz.

Getsafe’s expansion into France is just the latest example of the company’s ambitions to become a leading player in the digital insurance space. The company has said that it plans to launch in “several new markets” in the coming years.
